Advance in Barley Sciences: Proceedings of 11th InternationalBarley Genetics Symposium presents up-to date developments inbarley science. The book contains 38 papers submitted to the 11thInternational Barley Genetics Symposium, and covers all thepresentation sessions of the conference, i.e, barley develupmentand economics, utilization of germplasm, genetic resources andgenetic stocks, end-uses, biotic stress tolerance, abiotic stresses, new and renewed breeding methodology, barley physiology, successfulbreeding examples, barley genomics and all other '-omics'Theinformation will be useful for barley breeders, brewers, biochemists.moleculzir geneticists and biotechnologists. This bookmay also serve as a reference text for students and scientistsengaged in barley rescarch.Dr. Guoping Zhang is a barley breeder and crop physiologist inDepartment of Agronomy, Zhejiang University of, China.Dr. Chengdao Li is a senior molecular gencticist and barleybreeder in Dcpartmcnt of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia.Hc ...

内容简介

The last half century has seen extraordinary progress inbarley genetics research. In the firstInternational Barley GeneticsSymposium in 1963, scientists just started to discuss a map ofbarleychromosomes. Today, the International Barley GenomeSequencing Consortium is at the dawn of the completion of thebarley genome sequence. The regular International Barley GeneticsSymposiaprovide an important platform for barley breeders andscientists to share their research results and understand thefuture trends of barley genetics research. The proceedings are notonly the permanent record; they also provide key references forinterested outsiders at the symposium and future barley researchscientists. The organizing committee received around 150 abstractsand putthem into a special volume for all symposium participants tohave access, which will be helpful forimproving the discussions atthe poster sessions. Moreover, we have selected 38 full lengthpapers and published them as The Proceedings of llth IBGS.
