内容简介

长期以来,许多在高职高专英语专业教学第一线从事教学工作多年的教师常常感到迫切需要一套为他们量身定做的新教材以适应不断发展的教学形势的需要。正是基于这种需要,复旦大学出版社根据教育部颁发的《英语专业教学大纲》(基础阶段)组织、策划了高职高专英语专业系列教材的编写工作,以更好地服务于我国的高职高专英语专业教学。《英语阅读基础教程》就是这一系列的一个组成部分,通过为学生提供系统的、富有时代气息的和人文精神的阅读材料,旨在培养和提高学生的阅读和独立思考能力,扩大学生的知识面和词汇量,从而提升学生的理解和欣赏水平。本教程在选材和编写过程中,努力遵循如下原则:1.内容新颖活泼,富有时代特色;2.选材丰富多样,贴近现实生活;3.语言生动流畅,不失规范地道;4.观点鲜明独特,注重启迪心智;5.练习灵活多样,鼓励活学活用。全教程共四册,每册配有练习答案。每册包含16个单元,每单元由同一主题的3篇文章组成,全书共48篇文章。每单元主要包括如下几个部分:1)每单元以Introduction引出本单元主题,让学生对本单元的内容有个大致的了解,激发他们的阅读兴趣。2)注解采用边注形式,列出所有可能对阅读理解造成困难的单词和词组以及它们的中文解释,以方便阅读,降低难度,增强学生的信心。3)每单元的前两篇文章可用于课堂教学,而第三篇可以作为课外补充阅读。4)篇章结构的练习是为了帮助学生对整篇文章结构的把握。5)根据课文内容填空的练习目的是在学生熟悉课文内容的基础上训练他们的概括和表达能力,这是英语专业学生的基本功。6)英译汉练习通过列出课文中的难点,在培养他们的翻译能力的同时,加深学生对文章的理解。7)汉译英练习的目的是在训练翻译能力的同时,鼓励活学活用。8)选词填空练习旨在拓展学生的词汇量。9)讨论题可采用交互方式用于课堂讨论或辩论,或采用任务方式,让学生发表个人看法。10)选择题和判断题用于考察学生的理解能力。11)连线题经常出现在雅思等其他英语考试中,可用于考察学生的概括能力。12)完型填空题的题型与新的大学英语四级考试一致。13)改错题用于考察学生的语法知识,是大学英语六级的题型之一。本教材在编写过程中得到了俞卫荣、陈珍珠、俞凯悦、张绿溪、潇倩、汤俊杰的大力支持,在此一并表示感谢。鉴于编写时间紧迫,经验不足,水平有限,不足和疏漏之处在所难免,恳请广大师生和读者不吝批评指正。
