JAMES N.BUTCHER,University of Minnesota,James N.Bulisted in the Army when he was 17 years ole and served in the airborne infantry for 3 years,including a 1 year tour in Korea during the Korean war.after military service,he attended Guiford College,graducting in 1962 with a BA in psychology,He receivded an MA in experimental psychology in 1962 and a ph.D.in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel hill ,He was awarded Doctor Honoris Causa from the Free Univrersity of Brussels ,Belgium,in1990,He is currently professor of psychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnnesota and was associate director and derector of the clinical psychology progeramat the university for 19 years,He is currently professor of psychology in the Departent of Psychology at the University of Minnesota and was associate director and derector of the clinical psychology program at the univer sity for 19yeart.
