Feng Xie is a professor of Metallurgical Engineering at Northeastern University (NEU, Shenyang China). He also serves as member of editor committee of Transaction of Nonferrous Metals Society of China. He received B. Sc.and M.Eng.from NEU before beginning his teaching career at same university in 1995. He completed his graduate training at the Department of Materials Engineering in The University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) , receiving M.A.Sc.and Ph. D in 2006 and 2010, respectively. From 2010 to 2011, he worked as the postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in University of California, Berkeley (Berkeley, USA). He joined the Metallurgical Engineering faculty at NEU in 2012.He is now the team leader of the heavy metals research group and is super-vising a wide range of program of research and development in extractive metallurgy of base metals, solution purification and minerals processing.Kaixi Jiang is currently a professor of Metallurgical Engineering at ...

内容简介

Fundamentals and principles of hydrometallurgical processes are described in this book. The basic concept of hydrometallurgy and the overview of nuneral processing technologies are first introduced. The basic principles on leaching, separation and purification, and recovery of metals is elucidated in detail. In the section of leaching, the thermodynamics and kinetics of various leaching processes, especially construction of Eh-pH diagram and kinetics modelling are introduced; In the section of separation and purification, the thermodynamics and kinetics behind solvent extraction, ion-ex-change resin, and adsorption by activated carbon are discussed; In the section of re-covery, the basic principles of cementation and electrowinning especially the electro-chemical theory are the emphasis. The relevant application of these principles in devel-oping extractive metals or metal products from ore or intermediate materials is also dis-cussed. The practice of leaching including various leaching methods is also focus...
